Named after the bird, Hornbill Festival is one of the largest celebrations of the indigenous warrior tribes of Nagaland and therefore re-enactment of battles is a core part of the performances. Every season, this festival is kicked off with the traditional war cry from the hundreds of performers in their traditional attire. The 2013 festival was inaugurated by President of India Mr Pranab Mukherjee at the Kisama village of Nagaland. The festival is from December 1 to December 10.

Hali Welly is a self-taught photographer from Seba in East Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh. After acquiring the 'Certificate of Excellency' from Indian Institute of Photography, Welly decided to commence his career in photography. He had participated in several national level photo exhibitions. He is presently working as the Executive Engineer in Department of UD & Housing, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh, India.
