A charming and quaint traditional house in the heart of the Doimara village in the Arunachal Foot Hills near Missamari, the Ga Jiwu Yam (Our Own Home) Homestay is one of those houses where guests will feel welcomed the moment they enter it. Located below the Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary in the Himalayan foothills of West Kameng District, the home stay is situated in one of the most peaceful places in Arunachal Pradesh. It is also the most budget friendly homestay in the village and one of the most cost effective guesthouses in Arunachal Pradesh. The place is primarily made up for wildlife lovers, researchers, ornithologists, solo travellers, biker groups, couples and for people who are looking for some quiet time in the nature. With complimentary breakfast, gardens, trees, animal farms, the guesthouse offers peace and tranquillity all the time.

Please note: This homestay is for people who want to experience an authentic traditional village life near the jungle. There is very less network coverage and the families in the village depend on mostly solar-powered electricity or kerosene lamps. There is no regular electricity at present.

THE SPACE

(No AC in the rooms)

The traditional style bungalow has 1 bedroom and 1 living room styled in wooden decor. The bedroom has 2 single beds, cupboards, small sitting areas. There is a big living room and a seperate lounge room for relaxation, a big balcony, outdoor sitting area, a dining area and a big kitchen with all amenities which are common spaces for all the guests. The house has lot of open spaces and a peaceful road for morning walks. The place is good for couples, businessman, backpackers, single travellers and tourists. Extra mattresses can be provided for extra guests. A group of up to 6 people can easily stay in the homestay.

BATHROOM

The bathroom is private for guests and equipped with western toilet. Hot water is provided for bathing.

KITCHEN & COOKING AMENITIES

The kitchen is traditional styled and the host and the house maids are available to cook delicious traditional food of the Sherdukpen community. There are vegetable gardens and guests can choose the vegetables they want to have for lunch or dinner. Delicious tingmo (a steamed bun that is similar to Chinese flower rolls) with mouth-watering Chhurpi (or durkha, a traditional cheese consumed in the Himalayan regions) can be requested in prior for breakfast.
